Surah-Tariq

Surah At-Tariq, also known as “The Morning Star,” is the eighty-sixth chapter of the Quran, consisting of seventeen verses. It was revealed in Makkah and emphasizes the power of Allah, the Day of Judgment, and the consequences of human actions.

Surah At-Tariq begins with the mention of a star, known as Tariq, which is described as a piercing and bright celestial object. It is symbolic of a profound truth and serves as a reminder of divine power. The Surah asks the listener to contemplate the creation of the heavens and the earth and the miraculous nature of life, as these signs serve as evidence of a supreme being.

The Surah then highlights the Day of Judgment, a day when all deeds will be accounted for and people will face the consequences of their actions. It reminds individuals that no one can escape this day, as it will reveal the truth of their beliefs and actions. The Surah emphasizes that Allah, the Creator, has full knowledge and control over every detail of the universe and will hold people accountable for their choices.

The Surah then draws attention to the disbelievers who deny the truth and are immersed in worldly affairs. These individuals deny the possibility of resurrection and fail to recognize the signs of Allah’s existence. They indulge in their desires and live their lives heedless of their purpose and ultimate destiny. The Surah warns them of the punishment they will face for their rejection of the truth and the arrogance they display towards Allah’s signs.

Furthermore, the Surah provides examples from nature to illustrate the concept of resurrection. It mentions how Allah created man from a drop of fluid, and yet the same being will be resurrected after death. The Surah highlights the power and ability of Allah to recreate life, just as He created it in the first place. It serves as a reminder of the temporary nature of worldly life and the inevitability of death.

The Surah then addresses the human tendency to forget and neglect their purpose in life. It questions individuals about the origins of their existence and the purpose behind their creation. It emphasizes the importance of reflecting on one’s actions and being conscious of the consequences they may face in the Hereafter. The Surah reminds people that they will be held accountable for even the smallest deeds they perform.
